In the spirit of the holidays, this post may be simple. I am thankful. First and foremost, I owe Nate a huge thank you. A little over a year ago, his main interaction with me was to urge me to work out with caution. Why? Well, I was burdened with the extra weight of an oversized neon colored cast. I didn’t let it slow me down though. Taking a moment to reflect on my body and life in that moment, the contrast to where I am today is quite evident. Despite my imperfect routine, Nate has exercised patience as I have made tremendous progress to then backtrack. When my attention span is absolutely shot – he has learned how to best “rein me in”. Generally, regaining focus lies in channeling some of my fierce personality into boxing. When I can’t remember the names of almost every exercise (despite how many times I have been told) – he has learned the nicknames that I have given them. I see this as a win-win. It’s helpful when we both have some idea what the other is talking about.
Overall, I work hard. I work hard in every aspect of my life and I am thankful for the opportunities that I have been given. Despite my own lags in attendance, I am thankful for the strength I have gained in the last year and the clear progress made. I am thankful to know what I can accomplish and know how that feels. Remember, it’s never too late. If you want to be strong or lose those extra pounds – you can do it. It takes hard work and dedication but we truly have the power to create the lives we want to live in the bodies we design.
Needless to say, there are so many talented trainers at your disposal. My experience is one of many success stories and it is just beginning. Today, treat yourselves. Buy the package to train with someone. Find the person that suits your personality and can push you to your fullest potential. This may be your ONLY chance till next Christmas to get a discount. Let’s be frank, these sales don’t come by that often. Take into consideration the benefit of investing in yourself and weigh the value of the goals you are working towards each time you step in the gym. Can a trainer help you learn exercises for your body type? Are you pushing yourself enough? Do you need the appointment to stay consistent? Do you want to live a healthier lifestyle and a trainer can help you accomplish that?
Whatever your reasons are; I would be willing to bet that if you give Personal Training a shot, you won’t be disappointed.
